THE PROBLEMS EXPOSED OF THE PATIENTS WITH STOMA AND ATTEMPS TO TROUBLESHOOT THESE PROBLEMS IN A DEPARTMENT OF PEDIATRIC SURGERY
Stoma opening have been performed for the treatment of various gastrointestinal andurinary tract diseases and is often the saving of life and organ. However, nursing care of children with stoma is important almost up to the opening of stoma.
Our 42 children patients with stoma who were created by surgeons in the our Pediatric Surgery and Pediatric Urology Clinics, and were performed the follow-up, patient care and education were examined. The education of their parents and the results of the training were examined.
Parents' knowledge whose have stomal patients about stoma care was inadequate. It showed that there are a lot of task by nurse about stoma care, and it was determined that the right training was decreased problems afflicted by patients and parents about stoma care nursing.
We believe that the establishment of the Stoma Nursing Care organization in Pediatric Surgery and Pediatric Urology clinics and its professional services will benefit for the quality care of stoma patients' and for the sustainability of this service.
BİR ÇOCUK CERRAHİSİ KLİNİĞİNDE STOMALI HASTALARIN KARŞILAŞTIĞI SORUNLAR VE BU SORUNLARIN GİDERİLMESİNE YÖNELİK GİRİŞİMLER
Stoma açılması çeşitli gastrointestinal ve üriner sistem hastalıklarının tedavisinde yapılmakta ve çoğu zamanda hayat ve organ kurtarıcı olmaktadır. Ancak, stomalı çocukların hemşirelik bakımı, neredeyse stoma açılması kadar önem arzetmektedir.
Çocuk Cerrahisi ve Çocuk Ürolojisi Kliniklerimizde stoma açılan ve Stoma Hemşireliği’nce takip, bakım ve eğitimi yapılan 42 stomalı çocuk hastamız incelendi. Hastaların ebeveynleri ile birebir yapılan eğitim ve bu eğitimin sonuçları araştırıldı.
Stomalı hasta ebeynlerinin stoma bakımı konusunda bilgilerinin yetersiz olduğu saptandı. Stoma bakımı konusunda hemşireye büyük görev düştüğü görüldü ve verilen doğru eğitim ile hasta ve ebeveynlerinin karşılaştığı sorunların en aza indirgendiği tespit edildi.
Stomalı hastaların bakımı konusunda hizmet kalitesi ve bu hizmetin sürdürülebilirliği açısından Çocuk Cerrahisi ve Çocuk Ürolojisi kliniklerinde Stoma Hemşireliği kurularak profesyonel hizmet vermesinin yararlı olacağı kanaatindeyiz.
