INDIVIDUAL DEVELOPMENTAL SUPPORTING CARE IN NEONATAL INTENSIVE CARE UNITS AN IMPORTANT ITEM: SUPPORTING POSITION

Introduction: In recent years, developmental care has been implemented in Neonatal Intensive Care Units to support the neurodevelopmental process of infants. Indıvıdualized developmental care consists of many care applications such as observing the baby’s reactions and regulating the physical environment in accordance with the individual development of the newborn, reduction of psychosocial stressors, regulation of sleeping periods, administration of minimal stimulus to maintain psychosocial stability and in painful procedures, as well as using of nonfarmalogical methods with farmalogical methods. One of the most important nursing intervensions in developmental care is to supporting position In this study it is aimed to examine the different position applications used ın newborns.
Methods: In neonatal intensive care units, various therapeutic positions (supine, prone, side-lying) are recommended to provide neurodevelopmental support. Therapautic position applications facilitate normal growth and development, allows baby to change position in different directions, prevents muscle deformities, reduces unnecessary energy consumption, reduces stress by providing self regulation of baby. It also maintains the shape of head and increases physiological stability.

YENİDOĞAN YOĞUN BAKIM ÜNİTELERİNDE BİREYSEL GELİŞİMSEL DESTEKLEYİCİ BAKIMDA ÖNEMLİ BİR UNSUR: POZİSYONUN DESTEKLENMESİ

Giriş: Son yıllarda Yenidoğan Yoğun Bakım Üniteleri’nde bebeklerin nörogelişimsel süreçlerinin desteklenmesi amacıyla, bireyselleştirilmiş gelişimsel bakım uygulanmaktadır. Bireyselleştirilmiş gelişimsel bakım; bebeğin tepkilerinin gözlemlenerek, fiziksel çevrenin yenidoğanın bireysel gelişimine uygun olarak düzenlenmesi, psikososyal stresörlerin azaltılması, uyku periyodlarının düzenlenmesi, fizyolojik stabilitenin korunması için minimal uyaranın verilmesi ve ağrılı işlemlerde farmakolojik yöntemlerle birlikte non-farmakolojik yöntemlerin kullanılması gibi birçok bakım uygulamasından oluşmaktadır. Bireyselleştirilmiş gelişimsel bakımda en önemli hemşirelik girişimlerinden birisi pozisyonun desteklenmesidir. Bu çalışmada bebeklerde kullanılan farklı pozisyon uygulamalarının incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır.
Gereç ve Yöntem: Çalışmalarda Yenidoğan Yoğun Bakım Üniteleri’nde, nörogelişimsel desteğin sağlanmasında çeşitli terapotik pozisyonların (supine, prone, yan yatış) uygulandığı görülmüştür. Terapotik pozisyon uygulamaları normal büyüme ve gelişmeyi kolaylaştırır, bebeğin farklı yönlere pozisyon değişimini sağlar, kas deformitelerini engeller, gereksiz enerji harcanmasını azaltır, bebeğin kendi/kendine regülasyonunu sağlayarak stresi azaltır. Aynı zamanda baş şeklini korur ve fizyolojik stabiliteyide arttırır.
